Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank announced as a headline charity for Stortford Heroes: Party in the Park

Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank is the third of four headline charities announced for the local music festival Stortford Heroes: Party in the Park.

Around 4,000 festival-goers are expected to attend the free event taking place on Saturday 16th July 2022 at Sworders Field. The first wave of acts will be revealed soon with big international stars and up-and-coming local talent to top the bill.

Party in the Park, sponsored by ITVET, brings the community together to celebrate those who often go unrecognised and puts the spotlight on local causes and charities. It’s a non-profit event relying solely on the generosity of the local community with all proceeds going to charity.

A spokesperson for the Food Bank said: “We’re delighted to be part of the Stortford Heroes celebrations this summer. The past couple of years have been a huge challenge for us all, particularly for the most disadvantaged in our society. We witnessed a 225% increase in people needing food and care packages when the pandemic hit, but with the tremendous support of our volunteers, our community, and our referral partners we managed to help all those people.

“Stortford Heroes allows us to say thanks to all those who supported us during the pandemic. The fundraising from the event will also help us to continue the important work we do in our community.”
